Harry to return to UK but wont see Charles or William despite peace talks rumours

Prince Harry apparently has "no intention" of rendezvousing with his father King Charles III and brother Prince William next month.

It was reported just last week that the Duke of Sussex, 38, would engage in "peace talks" with his estranged family members as the royals mark the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death.

However, these plans have been seemingly ripped up and binned, with a source telling The Mirror that their relationship remains "firmly rooted at rock bottom" and will not be burying their grievances.

"While some may suggest it would be good order for the family to settle their differences, perhaps even in the late Queen's memory, things are a long way off," they added.

The Spare author is flying from California to London for a WellChild charity event, which celebrates the accomplishments of seriously ill youngsters. And despite having the space in his diary to visit Charles, 74, and Queen Camilla at Balmoral Castle, Harry will avoid Scotland altogether and journey next to Dusseldorf for the Invictus Games. His wife Meghan Markle is instead jetting directly to Germany from the States.

OK! reached out to Harry's reps for comment.

A source previously told OK! of the situation: "King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf. The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son. Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak.

"The King loves his son very much but he has been mortally wounded by what he has done. He will always be there for him but draws the line at public slanging matches. If the talks take place, the King will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward."

This of course follows the making of controversy magnet Harry & Meghan, a Netflix docuseries charting the Sussexes' plight to abandon The Firm and begin a new life with their young children in Montecito.

In Harry's aforementioned memoir, which was published in January of this year and soared to the top of the bestsellers' list, his remarks made about Camilla, 76, didn't land well at all with his monarch father.

Speaking to ITV's Tom Bradby at the time, Harry rubbished any notion of him 'scathingly' writing about Camilla in Spare.

"There's no part of any of the things that I've said are scathing towards any member of my family, especially not my stepmother. There are things that have happened that have been incredibly hurtful, um, some in the past, some current," he told the interviewer.

"And you talk about, you know, scrutiny and, you know, my wife and I were scrutinised more than, probably, anybody else. I, I see a lack of scrutiny to my family towards a lot of the things that have happened in the last year."
