Eamonn Holmes was left slightly taken aback after wife Ruth Langsford let slip she was unaware of where Banbridge was located in the UK. The couple, who wed in 2010, regularly front This Morning together.

During yesterday’s episode, the 60-year-old TV veteran light-heartedly scolded Ruth, also 60, for her geographical ignorance.

But it was a viewer who took to Twitter and called out the couple and informed them they would now have to visit Banbridge once the lockdown is over.

The person in question wrote: “Now now @RuthieeL…. How very dare you @EamonnHolmes you’ll have to make sure you guys visit now … @theboulevardni awaits!! #Banbridge #NowYouKnow.”

In view of his one million followers, Eamonn replied: “Please forgive my wife’s ignorance …. she doesn’t get out much.”

The cheeky rebuttal comes after the pair were reading out messages on This Morning.

Ruth asked: “Where’s Banbridge?” as Eamonn gave her a quizzical look.

“Everybody knows where Banbridge is,” he stated bluntly.

She replied: “I don’t know where Banbridge is and nor does anyone in the gallery.”

A stunned Eamonn continued: “What! You don’t know where Banbridge is. Shout out to Banbridge.”

However, Ruth did not let her beau off the hook and asked him to let her know its whereabouts.

Eamonn explained: “It’s in County Down,” before he went on to read out a message from a nursery school in Banbridge.

He continued: “What am I going to say now that you’ve just ruined this.”

Banbridge is an area located in County Down in Northern Ireland.

Ruth later turned to her husband and said: “Are you alright now?” after Eamonn seemingly appeared flustered by his wife’s minor blunder.

The Irishman replied: “I’m going to bring you to Banbridge.”

She chuckled: “Good. I would love to go to Banbridge next time we’re allowed.”

The pair began dating in 1997 and welcomed their son Jack five years later.

Eamonn and Ruth will have been married for a decade next month, after tying the knot at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire.

He was previously married to Gabrielle, and they share three children: Declan, Rebecca and Niall.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.

Kate’s husband has been fighting coronavirus in hospital for two months.

Tonight, she shared a video of her banging a pan as she put on a brave face for the nationwide clap.

She praised the pair for “always finding ways of lifting our spirits & staying strong even when they can see me wobbling”.

Kate went on to say: “It’s so wonderful to see little green shoots of hope that this dreadful disease is easing and that hopefully soon we might all be able to see each other again and hug our nearest and dearest.

“But the journey for me and my family seems to be far from over as everyday my heart sinks as I learn new & devastating ways this virus has more battles for Derek to fight.

“But he is still HERE & so there is still hope. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to anyone who will be affected by this, not just for the next few weeks but for the foreseeable future.

“That will be the case for many who have suffered from the disease, but also the front line workers who have been helping to treat the worst affected.”

Kate went on to say urge those affected to “stick together far beyond the end of lockdown”.

The Smooth Radio presenter concluded her post thanking her fans for their ongoing support.

Earlier today, her colleague Piers Morgan spoke with Jo Tillbrook on Good Morning Britain, who has recovered from the virus after spending 42 days in hospital.

“You can’t see your loved one, you have to just muddle through I guess.”

Kate has been on a break from Good Morning Britain during her husband’s health battle.

Last week, she told fans Derek was still in a coma.

She added that she had her spouse on FaceTime throughout the clap, in the hope he could hear what was going on.

The presenter wrote: “I couldn’t film on my phone as had Derek on FaceTime throughout!

“Of course we can’t KNOW but I believe he can hear us & thought at least the incredible @nhs team’s looking after him would hear a fraction of our gratitude.”

Loose Women presenter Andrea McLean, 50, has detailed the reasons behind her breakdown, which she suffered last year, in a candid interview. The star told The Mirror about how a painful “personal” experience made her feel like she had to “dim her lights” at the time.

Andrea first opened up about her issues while hosting the ITV daytime show, but has now admitted she didn’t mean to talk about it on-screen.

She explained: “I didn’t mean to talk it about on air. I had been off air for six weeks and then when I went back on it slipped out.

“I’m not ashamed of it and I’ve learnt so much. I think people were surprised as they think, ‘She doesn’t look like the type of person who has a breakdown’.

“But what does a person look like? It is someone who is a people-pleaser, someone who tries too hard to do everything and can’t say ‘no’ and holds everything in. That’s exactly what I am and that is why it happened.”

While addressing the situation, Andrea clarified that the incident was “personal” and not professional.

The mum-of-two said: “I’ve had to make myself small through a lot of my life and dim my lights.

“I don’t want to do that any more. There have been experiences in my life of having to stay small.”

She then added in reference to her battle with people pleasing: “I was always made to feel I could do anything I wanted but always to a level.

“As long as everyone was happy with whatever you are doing, then you can do whatever you want.”

Andrea went on to credit her husband Nick Feeney, who attended counselling sessions in solidarity with her.

The television personality revealed she had never had therapy until last year, but has since realised how helpful it is.

Speaking about the process, she said: “Nick has been brilliant. It was really important for him to be supportive, so he came along so that we could work together.

Elsewhere, Andrea admitted she left one of her friends furious after accidentally revealing their name as she discussed their funny dating story during a live show.

She exclusively told Express.co.uk: “We’ve all at some point said something, where you just forget [that you’re on camera].

“We’ve all ended up over sharing, normally I’m really good about myself and I’m really careful about making sure I don’t land anyone else in it.

“I just happily said, ‘My friend da da da’ and said some funny story about some silly guy and some date she had been on and she was so cross with me.

“She didn’t want anyone to know she was dating online, so yeah note to self, be very careful before you out anyone.”

During a video interview with Sirius Hits 1 on May 16, she talked about what she’s learned about Bloom during this time. “Well, what I have actually learned, some of the positives, because he’s seen it all, and God bless him, he’s still here, which is amazing and commendable,” Perry said. “Because I have definitely tested him and been like, ‘Oh yeah? You think you can handle me? Let’s see it!’”

The singer went on to talk about Bloom’s excellent Lego skills and how she’s realized he’s a lot more handy than she thought. And now this had led him to looking at maybe building his own car.”

The Step by Step author concluded his article by encouraging people to plan visits to these “spectacular” conservation camps.

Presenter and screenwriter Charlie Brooker, 49, has been in lockdown with his wife Konnie Huq, 44, and their two children Covey, eight, and six-year-old Huxley during the coronavirus pandemic. Opening up on what life has been like during lockdown, he said he’s been trying not to scare his kids about the virus, but also feared his son would get picked on at school because of his name.

I was worried he’d get picked on at school.

Charlie Brooker

He explained: “I hope we’ve done a good job of not scaring them, while impressing the need to wash their hands, and explaining why we can’t get in the car and go to the woods or whatever.

“Our eldest is called Covey, which sounds uncomfortably close to Covid.

“So I was worried he’d get picked on at school. But, luckily, no one caught on to that before the schools closed.”

He added to Radio Times Magazine: “For them, every day is like a weekend when we don’t go out.

  • Ruth Langsford hits back after fans query her ‘new look’ in lockdown

“Which was most weekends anyway. Although our eight-year-old made an Easter card for his brother, saying, ‘Happy Easter! I wish Corona wasn’t real.’ Now that was a bit dystopian.”

The Government enforced a lockdown back in March in a bid to combat the spread of the virus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has since eased lockdown measures including exercising for more than an hour and meeting one family member in a public place, as long as they’re two metres away from each other.

During lockdown, Charlie said he realised being at home was the perfect time to bring back a new edition of his classic Wipe shows, which he started in 2006.

He explained: “So we were looking for ways to keep ourselves active, trying to come up with things that might be made under home working.”

He added of the show, which involves Charlie reviewing television shows from his sofa, “it actually works pretty well under lockdown conditions”.

“People would say, ‘I can’t wait to see what you say about a particular event’. So this seemed a good one to do,” he added.

The idea of new series came after making a new show, which would have involved filming overseas, was put on hold due to the virus.

Elsewhere, The Black Mirror screenwriter’s wife Konnie Huq has also been keeping busy co-writing a series of children’s books with TV executive James Farrell.

Last year, she opened up about family life at home, in which she admitted she got rid of Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa.

She told The Times: “One day our son came in and said, ‘Alexa, I mean Daddy,’ and it was, ‘Oh, my goodness!’

“Or the kids would say stupid things [such as] ‘Alexa, tell us a joke’, ‘Alexa, what time is it?’

“She never seemed to serve any useful purpose, so what’s the point?”

  • Lord Sugar blasts ‘obnoxious’ Piers Morgan and ‘poisoned’ Susanna Reid

On how the couple manage their kid’s screen time, she said it’s all down to her husband.

Konnie divulged: “I leave Charlie to manage all that stuff.

“All the other mums are like, ‘We only let ours have half an hour of screen time,’ but if Charlie had his way it would be, ‘We only let ours have half an hour off screen time.’

“He’s read up on it all and says there are no studies that show this stuff is bad for you. It’s the future.”

Charlie Brooker’s Antiviral Wipe special airs tonight on BBC Two at 9pm.

Trump says he can change Washingtons rigged system by turning it on its head. The New York businessman is leading several Republican candidates in early-state polls. The results from three states that will hold Republican nominating contests March 1 represent the first test of Trumps political appeal. In Iowa, some voters said Trumps rhetoric about Muslims, undocumented immigrants and other issues are not what they expect from a candidate who wants their vote. In New Hampshire, which holds the first primary in the presidential campaign, voters were shocked by Trumps comments about Mexican immigrants, a group some have said they are wary of. And in South Carolinas GOP primary, Trump said the only way to stop gun violence is to ban all Muslims from entering the country.
