Ben Shephard was among those leading their farewells to Good Morning Britain star Tim Carr this morning. He and his co-stars wished him well as he prepared to leave ITV after 40 years behind the scenes.

On the show this morning, Ben and his co-presenter Kate Garraway dedicated a segment to Tim.

Ben told viewers: “Just a quick goodbye to our floor manager Tim who is leaving the show today.

“He has been with us for 40 years. We will miss you Tim.”

Kate added: “Let’s have a look at Tim, he’s been with us for 40 years.

“And Ranvir knows you very well.”

The camera then shifted to show Tim off-screen as he waved goodbye to viewers.

Davina McCall was another star who referenced his exit, as she took to Twitter to say goodbye.

Reacting, Davina penned this morning: “Oh my god Tim is leaving ??

“Floor manager extraordinaire. 40 years !!!

“Been in telly longer than me !!

“@GMB please give him a cuddle from me.”

Back in 2016, Tim appeared in a promotional video for This Morning, introducing his role.

He said: “My role is basically making sure the studio runs smoothly and efficiently for the live show.

“I’m in charge of making sure everybody knows where they are, where they’re meant to be.

“And that they’re at the right time – so I make sure lighting and sound know where they’re meant to be and what they’re meant to be doing.”

Tim added: “Probably the most important thing is looking after the presenters, making sure they know where they are at the right time.”

On his Twitter profile, Tim describes himself as “Floor Manager to the stars for ITV Daytime for 25 years.”

He also recently shared his own goodbyes to another star of the show, Ollie Gardner.

Ollie was leaving ITV for Piers Morgan’s new TalkTV show at News UK.

Saying farewell, Tim wrote: “Congratulations Ollie.

“Brilliant news for you and NewsUK. Well done mate.”
