Miffy Englefield, the former child star of The Holiday, has got us in the mood for the annual viewing of The Holiday this festive season after recreating scenes from the film, and she's now a mother herself.
At 24 years old, Miffy, who played Jude Law's daughter, Sophie, in the 2006 classic, is now a proud mom to a little girl named Frankie, born in April 2020.
She recently excited her fans by embarking on a countryside home swap, just as in the iconic film, with the help of HomeExchange.com.
Miffy enjoyed a stay in a converted Tudor barn in the peaceful East Sussex countryside, just as Cameron Diaz's character did in the movie. During the stay, the family picked blackberries in their beautiful garden, toasted marshmallows and visited a local farm shop, although Miffy held off cracking open a bottle of wine at the till.
In The Holiday, British actress Kate Winslet swaps homes with Cameron Diaz for Christmas, leading to love interests in each other's worlds, with Kate's character falling for Jack Black and Cameron's character for Jude Law.
Miffy shared two videos from her trip, leaving her fans astonished at how much she's grown and how similar her stay was to the film. Some fans didn't even recognise her from the movie.
One fan wrote: “omg I didn't realise it was you in the holiday I love that film always wanted to do a home exchange.”
Another penned: “You were one of the adorable little girls I am guessing. Xxxx.”
A third added: “it's almost like a perfect reflection of the film!”
Reflecting on her experience in the film, Miffy said: "It was amazing being in it. Every time it is on telly – and it is a lot – I crack up. It's on Netflix now too."
She described the cast as sweet, kind, and down-to-earth, though at the time, she didn't know who Cameron and Jude were because she was only six years old. However, she recognised Jack Black due to her dad's love for his band, Tenacious D.
Miffy shared her feelings about revisiting the film by doing a home exchange of her own, adding: "It feels very full circle to revisit this film that has played such a big role in my life by doing a home exchange of my own.
“Where I was once the young child around adults experiencing a fictional home swap, I now had the opportunity to bring my daughter along for the journey. It's amazing what social media can do – it has allowed me to grab the attention of fans of the original film, giving me this platform to share insider knowledge and, now, to show my own home exchange experience."
