The Cambridges took a family vacation on the Isles of Scilly again, like last year

I’ve been wondering for the past two weeks if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were already enjoying a summer holiday, and if we would even learn where they were/are. Well, I got my answer! Apparently, William and Kate took the kids to the Isles of Scilly, which is sort of a beachy, tourist-y area. The Cambridges went on vacation there last summer too – last year, Kensington Palace even provided this quote “from a holidaymaker” about the Cambridges’ vacation: “We hardly noticed at first as they seemed a normal family on holiday intent on keeping themselves to themselves. The place where they were staying was quite modest and certainly not hugely luxurious. We couldn’t help thinking what the weather might be like in California — but it’s much better to be holidaying here in Britain.” No similar quote this year.

Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoyed a family holiday on the Isles of Scilly for the second year running, it has been revealed. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are believed to have travelled there for a staycation with their children Prince George, who turned eight on July 22, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, according to Hello!.

Like many Britons put off travelling further afield by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the royals have decided to remain in the UK for their summer break. Last year they opted against heading abroad with their three children as any potential need to quarantine could impact their ability to work.

The Cambridges may have opted to return to Tresco Island – the only one of the five inhabited islands that is privately-owned – after the family were spotted cycling around it last year.

The place may hold fond childhood memories for William, 39, who holidayed in Tresco with his parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and his brother, Prince Harry, in 1989.

Last year, the PR was that the Cambridges were staying at a “humble stone cottage,” like a peasant family might. Considering that they’re staying at the same place as before and now it’s being described as a “privately owned island,” I would think that the stone cottage is probably more like a five-star resort with a stone facade. Or at least a fully upgraded mansion. But sure, they’re doing a “staycation.” I guess Kate didn’t want to be stuck in Mustique with Baldingham. And if we’re learning this now, that means they probably already left. I wonder where they are now?
