Taylor Swift fans in meltdown as 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is finally released

Taylor Swift’s army of fans are in a frenzy as 1989 (Taylor’s Version) has come out, more than eight years after its original release date.

On August 9, the Anti-Hero star announced she would be re-releasing her unforgettable 1989 album after her first six albums were acquired by talent manager Scooter Braun when he bought her record label.

Since April 2021, Taylor has been re-releasing her versions of some of her best-loved songs and has been working hard to bring 1989 back to life, bigger and better.

Some of the songs featured on this album include Wildest Dreams, Shake It Off, Clean, Wonderland and Style, just to name a few.

Posting about the album release today, the 33-year-old shared a handwritten note on X, formerly, Twitter, addressing her adoring fans.

Taylor’s note reads: “I was born in 1989, re-invented for the first time in 2014 and a part of me was reclaimed in 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so dearly.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the magic you would sprinkle in my life for so long.

“This moment is a reflection of the woods we’ve wandered through and all this love between us still glowing in the darkest dark.

“I present to you, with gratitude and wild wonder, my version of 1989. It’s been waiting for you.”

“This means so much to me and to all of us. Thank you for everything, we love you so much”, wrote another. 

A fellow lifelong Swiftie said: “I love you and I’m so glad I get to experience my favourite era twice alongside you [sic].”

While another added: “Taylor I’m so proud of you, so glad you’re getting back your albums one by one and the fans will always be there for you along this journey.”

In recent months, Taylor has been at the heart of a media storm, partly due to her sold-out Eras tour and movie which came out earlier this month and her ongoing relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce, who apparently recently got a private home for them after the pair broke the internet with a snap of them kissing. 

And with the star ready to tour internationally next year, there seems to be a lot for Swifties to get excited about.
