Spencer Matthews tried to jump airport queue but was rejected by staff in front of large crowd

Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews tried to queue jump at a Spanish airport – but it only resulted in him being sent to the back of the queue.

The TV star, 33, recalled the experience in the latest episode of his podcast, Spencer & Vogue, which he presents alongside his wife, Vogue Williams, 36.

The pair – who have been married since 2018 – were recording their latest episode in Sotogrande, in Spain, where they were enjoying a family holiday with their three children.

But in the episode Spencer admitted that one time he flew out to Barcelona for a night to attend a friend's wedding, which is when the travelling faux pas happened, the Mirror reports.

The dad-of-three had to leave the couple's apartment at 4am in order to "get the early flight" to Barcelona so he could make the most of the wedding celebrations.

Spencer arrived at the airport "well on time" but found himself facing a queue of around 300 people trying to check in – so he decided to try and skip it.

In the podcast, he said: "Tried to do my queue jump-y thing and go down like the queue with no-one in it [but] because there was somebody manning the front of the queue [I] got rejected in front of a big crowd."

Vogue replied: "That's why I never wanna do it. That's so embarrassing."

To which Spencer commented: "I couldn't care less."

He added: "Half the time it works and then you literally walk off like laughing and the people at the back of the queue go 'ah s*** I should do that'."

In this instance, an employee at the airport told him he would need to join the queue, so he did – with Spencer adding: "[It was] quite a long queue but did move very nicely."

This wasn't the end of the Made In Chelsea star's disruption, however, as he was later told he may not be able to board the plane anyway.

In the podcast, he said that due to the plane tickets being oversold, he would only manage to get a seat on the flight if there was availability – but fortunately for him, he ended up being able to board the plane.

Spencer rose to fame through his appearances on Made in Chelsea, being on the show between 2011 to 2015 and starred in 99 episodes.

He shares three children with Vogue – three year old Theodore, almost-two year old Gigi, and three month old Otto.

The latest episode of the Spencer & Vogue podcast is available now on audio streaming platforms.
