Roman Kemp looks downcast as he proudly displays his tribute tattoo to his friend who died

Roman Kemp left the Global Radio studios proudly showing off the tattoo he had done as a tribute to his friend.

The Capital FM breakfast radio presenter looked downcast though, as he walked in the heat.

Roman was dressed comfortably in a brightly coloured tie-dye T-shirt, great shorts and white trainers.

It's a difficult time for the I'm A Celeb star and he looked distracted by his mobile while wearing headphones.

Roman had the tattoo on his leg done just a few days ago because his late "best friend" and producer on his radio show had exactly the same one and in the same spot.

When 27-year-old Roman told his radio show listeners that Joe Lyons has died suddenly, he choked up.

When Roman made the decision to get the tattoo done he shared it on his Instagram Stories, writing: "Joe had this tattoo and I always used to say it was awful and looked like a pigeon."

In the next photo, Roman is laying on a bed with the same tattoo on his leg and he wrote: "So I got it in the same spot…"

He then shared a side-by-side comparison of the two tattoos.


He had revealed on Friday that they would go off air after the tragic loss of a friend of the show and on Monday’s radio show, Roman broke down in tears as he explained what had happened.

Roman described Joe, who had worked at media company Global for nine years, as his “best friend” as he told listeners of the tragedy.

“We wanted to share some really sad news. I never thought I’d have to do this ever,” he said through tears.

“Last Tuesday, very suddenly, we lost one of our best friends. Our producer Joe, he was a member of the Capital Breakfast family. We are trying to process this all together. We wanted to share this news with you."

Roman continued: “Joe had worked for Global, the parent company, for nine years.

“He was the very first person I met when I walked through the door. I remember thinking he was a bit of a Del Boy.

“He was with me right from my very first show. He taught me everything. I don’t know sitting in a radio studio without him.'

Roman added as he spoke of their close bond: “He’s the person I’d sit here and rinse constantly."
