Rachel Riley makes Countdown return with baby Noa and Pasha by her side

Countdown viewers were overjoyed to have Rachel Riley back on the show after giving birth to daughter Noa, whomshe welcomed into the world in early November.

Noa is Rachel’s second child with Strictly Come Dancing husband Pasha Kovalev. The pair also share two year old daughter Maven together.

As Rachel made her return on Tuesday 15 March, she was asked if she had anyone with her, to which she revealed both Pasha and baby Noa were in the studio too.

Chatting to host Anne Robinson, Rachel revealed that Noa has grown to be quite accustomed to the Countdown theme tune as she used to hear it from inside the womb.

The mum-of-two also quipped that she was pleased to have a child that looks like her as Maven “looks like her daddy”.

Teasing Noa’s television debut before the show, Rachel shared a snap of her adorable tot on her lap while she was in hair and make-up.

She wrote alongside the photo: “I’m back on air ⁦@C4Countdown⁩ today and *might* be showing off what I’ve been busy with during mat leave (for anyone who likes baby spam!)”.

People were quick to comment on how cute Noa is, and how they were looking forward to having Rachel on their screens again.

One person wrote: “Welcome back, Rachel. Good to see you today and to see your adorable baby”.

Rachel’s return to the show comes aftershe allegedly threatened to leave Countdownif the so-called rift between her and co-star Anne wasn’t resolved.

A source said Rachel has reached her limit with the situation as they explained: “Rachel and Anne had clashed for some time and for Rachel, enough is enough.

"She has moaned about Anne a number of times and even said she would consider walking away from Countdown if the issues weren’t sorted."

Rachel later addressed the reportsas branded Anne as being far from cuddly.

She told us: "I don’t think anyone would describe Anne as cuddly.”

“She’s very matter-of-fact,” Rachel added. “To be honest though, due to the pandemic we haven’t been able to socialise like we normally would."
