Prince Harry andMeghan Markle recently made asecret visit to Windsor Castle where they caught up with Prince Charles, but it’s reported that the meeting lasted for just 15 minutes.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stopped off in the UK to meet the Queen while on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
However, though details of the visit remain concealed, it’s believed that 37 year old Harry and Meghan, 40, first met up with Charles in whatthe Daily Mail has called an “edgy” reunion.
After Harry last visited the UK back in July 2021 to unveil a statue of his late mother Princess Diana, the reunion was the trio’s first face-to-face chat sincethe Sussexes stepped back as a senior royal.
According to a Daily Mail source, the meeting is alleged to have taken place at 10am and lasted for around 15 minutes.
AsCharles and Camillia were both at Windsor Castle to attend a Maundy Thursday service at St George’s Chapel, Camilla is also said to have joined the pair halfway through the get-together.
Speaking to the publication, the source explained: “He [Charles] loves his son and he has been broken-hearted by everything that has taken place, although he fears history repeating itself with Harry just as it did with Princess Diana.
“But he also wants to keep the door open and keep talking, something he still regrets not doing with Diana.”
After the Sussexes moved to California with their young family in March 2020, the meeting is thought to have been an opportunity to clear the air.
Following the meeting, Harry and Meghan visitedthe Queen in her private apartment where the “atmosphere was a lot less edgy”.
And despite having not seen her grandson in person since last year, it seems as though Her Majesty still holds a soft spot for Harry.
“He has always had the ability to make her laugh and she loves that about him,” the source explained.
“To this day whenever she hears that Harry is on the phone her eyes light up.”
While the couple’s children Archie, two, and 11 month old Lilibet are still in the US, theMirror reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex intend to return to the UK so that the Queen can spend some time with the little ones.
Following the whistle stop visit,Harry and Meghan jetted off to the Netherlands ahead of the opening of the Invictus Games.
The couple were seen at The Hague on 15 April, which is the first time they have visited Europe since 2020.
