Phillip Schofield was relaxing at home ready to watch some Sunday night TV when his house started flooding.
The Dancing on Ice star documented his unfortunate leak before getting ready to watch the ice skating show on ITV, as Stephen Mulhern stepped in to host with Holly Willoughby.
On his Instagram stories, the presenter reflected to his three million followers: "life is full of small consolations…If I hadn't tested positive and had gone to Dancing on Ice, the house would be flooded", he wrote.
The 59 year old kept a positive frame of mind as he took photos of the flood.
Luckily, there was no major damage to his possessions, although he did snap drenched floorboards with a steady drip of water landing on them.
Phillip also shared a photo of his dripping light fitting and joked about the potentially dangerous image, writing: "remind me not to turn on that light!".
Later in the evening, the veteran TV host poured himself a gin and tonic as he enjoyed the latest episode of the ITV skating show he was meant to present.
Phillip watched on as host Stephen Mulhern deputised for him and joked: "Well this is an experience I never expected!!! I'm loving watching with a G&T".
While watching his contemporary share a giggle with fellow presenter Holly Willoughby, Phillip jokingly warned Stephen to not get too comfortable with his new role as he said: "Not too much fun Mulhern….I know where you live."
While Phillip isolates, fans were treated to a reunion of former children TV presenters Stephen, 44, and Holly, 40.
The duo starred as hosts of Ministry of Mayhem from 2004 to 2006.
During her introduction on the show, Holly sent well-wishes to her friend and long term co-host Phillip.
"Welcome to the greatest show on ice, we have got a packed show tonight. You may have heard, Phil is isolating… so for the first time ever, he won't be here this week", the presenter explained.
Holly cheerfully added: "I know he's watching at home… we're sending you lots of love, Phil! However, the lovely Stephen Mulhern has stepped in to save the day!"
Phillip tested positive for coronavirus last week so has been out of action for This Morning and Dancing on Ice since January 31.
Vernon Kaystepped in to co-host This Morning last week with regulars Holly Willoughby and Rochelle Humes.
Meanwhile, Alison Hammond has stepped in to present This Morning with Holly Willoughby today.
