Olivia Rodrigo has herself a number one album!!!
It was revealed this weekend that the 18-year-old singer’s debut album Sour, made it’s first mark on the Billboard 200 albums chart in the top spot, as many would have predicted.
Not only did it debut at No 1, but it also had the biggest sales week for 2021, with 295,000 equivalent album units. According to Billboard, Sour also launched with the “second-largest streaming week ever for a non-R&B/hip-hop album, and second-biggest for an album of any genre by a female artist.”
The album even broke the record for the biggest opening week for an album by a female artist in Spotify history, as well as “good 4 u” breaking the record for biggest streaming week for any song in Spotify’s chart history, surpassing her first hit song “driver’s license.”
The week before, Olivia made history for having two No 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart from her debut album!
