Olivia Colman, 47, took to the red carpet alongside her husband Ed Sinclair, as they attended the UK premiere of her new drama series Landscapers. The star-studded cast, which includes David Thewlis, Samuel Anderson and Kate O’Flynn, were out in full force at the event, which was held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on November 30 in London.
But all eyes were on Olivia and Ed as they made a rare appearance side-by-side in front of the cameras.
Ed, who appeared in BBC’s Look Around You, is a man of many talents.
An actor and writer, he is also listed on IMBD as the creator and producer of TV series Screenshot, as well as Landscapers, starring his wife.
The pair dazzled as they smiled for the cameras.
Olivia donned a black high-neck ensemble while Ed wore a navy blazer and green t-shirt.
The couple met at Cambridge University, where they both studied.
They were rehearsing for a production of Table Manners at the time.
In an interview, she confessed she “sort of stalked him”.
“Which I don’t condone!” she giggled.
“It did work in our case. I remind him every day that he is a very lucky man.”
Olivia also spent six weeks memorising the lyrics to the songs he liked and his timetable, before professing her love for him through a mutual friend.
“I took three hours to get dressed every day. He was not aware of what was going on.
“Eventually I just told his friend to tell him I loved him and eventually his friend did.”
Speaking to The Telegraph previously, the actress admitted: “It sounds really odd, but I did fall in love with him at first sight.
“When he walked into the room, I just went, ‘That’s him!’
“Mind you, I suppose if he hadn’t wanted me, then I might have gone, ‘That’s him!’ at someone else a week later.”
The trailer for the new thriller was released two weeks ago and had viewers on the edge of their seats.
Inspired by real events, Landscapers tells the true story of the 1998 murders of Nottingham-residents William and Patricia Wycherley, and uses extensive research and hours of interviews with those connected to the case.
Olivia and co-star David portray mild-mannered murders, husband and wife duo Susan and Christopher Edwards, in what Sky describes as “a unique love story involving a seemingly ordinary couple”.
Their crimes remained undetected for over a decade, as the show asks how the couple came to kill Susan’s parents and bury them in the back garden of their Mansfield home.
Landscapers is available to stream on 6 December.
