Hollyoaks star Nadine Mulkerrin has given birth to her second child, a baby boy.

The soap star took to her Instagram platform on Thursday morning with a sweet black and white snap of her eldest kissing her newborn.

Nadine, who shares her children with Rory Douglas-Speed, gushed in the caption: "Reggie would like to introduce you all to his new little brother Dougie James Speed

"8.1lbs, 24/05/2022 He’s our chilled, fuzzy little old man that’s completed our family!

"That’ll be me now, a life of dinosaurs, cars and willies flying around the gaff! Wish me luck and pass this mamma the [champagne emoji]"

The congratulatory comments poured in with Mandip Gill writing: "These pictures are sooooo cute!!!! Can not wait to meet him. Congratulations again you gorgeous gorgeous humans !

"I wish you all the happiness in the world. Love you xxxxxxxx"

Sophie Austin wrote: "Oh congratulations Nadine."

Nadine announced on Christmas Day that she and her partner Rory Douglas-Speed were expecting their second child together.

Taking to Instagram on Christmas Day, the couple shared an adorable snap of their son Reggie, two, holding an ultrasound scan.

Nadine and Rory welcomed their first child, Reggie, in October 2019.

It comes after the actress discussed Reggie's unusual upbringing, due to the coronavirus pandemic, with OK! in July, she said at the time: "Reggie was six weeks old when we got the first lockdown from Boris.

"In some ways, I kind of miss that feeling of being in our little bubble and, obviously, Rory was off work which was a massive help.

"I was thinking, God, if he was filming seven till seven, I don't know how I would have coped!

"We were a little team, we just really got to soak in those newborn moments and enjoy Reggie together.

"But, equally, it's sad that Rory's family up in Scotland haven't seen Reggie that much, and I definitely do feel like he's missed out on certain bonds with people and little things like, he's never really been to a restaurant before, so he's wild when we go out.

"There's so many things we've not been able to do with him, but now soft plays are open that's helped my sanity a bit."
