During the last series of Married At First Sight UK, Tayah Victoria predicted that she and her new husband Adam Aveling would be expecting this year.
And as the couple celebrate their first anniversary of tying the knot [albeit not legally] on the Channel 4 show, they couldn’t be more thrilled to exclusively reveal that Tayah is 14 weeks pregnant with their first child! See their exclusive shoot by signing up – for free! – below.

It’s clear just how excited the pair are as they pose for our exclusive shoot and Tayah, 26, shows off her bump for the first time.
A shirtless Adam, 27, kisses his fiancée’s bare bump and the couple can’t help but exchange loving looks throughout the day.
But their excitement has also come with some nerves, as Tayah sadly suffered a miscarriage in a previous relationship.
However, she says things would be different this time if she went through the same experience as she has a supportive partner by her side.
Adam proposed for real during their final vow renewal on the reality series and the pair were planning to tie the knot later this year, the same date that both their parents married.
But with their little one due just five days later, the couple have decided to push their nuptials back by a year.
Here, Adam and Tayah, who live in Doncaster, tell new which of their co-stars they have shared their special news with and why Tayah has taken charge of decorating the nursery…
Congratulations, both! Tayah, you said on the show that you thought you’d be pregnant this year, so this is pretty amazing…
Tayah: I know, I thought it would happen and it did! We’re so excited. And the thing is we weren’t even trying! It just happened. I can’t believe it. We’re obviously just very fertile [laughs].
So it was a total surprise?
Adam: Yeah. [To Tayah] And you knew very early on didn’t you?
Tayah: Yeah, I could just tell. I was only four weeks. When you know your body you just know when something is different, so I did a test.
Did you do the test together?
Tayah: No. I wanted to film Adam’s reaction, but I’d just done the test and I had it in my hand. I was about to set up filming it and call him up but I could hear him coming up the stairs so I just handed him the test and said, “Here!”
It was a Clearblue test so it said “Pregnant” and Adam went, “Well, what does this mean?” And I said, “What do you think? It says ‘pregnant’!” It was a good reaction.
Adam: I didn’t want to overreact in case I was reading it wrong, so I wanted to double check!
Did either of you cry?
Adam: Yeah, we both teared up.
Tayah: It was a very cute moment. It will be so nice to have these pictures to look back on too and show the baby.
Adam: We both said we wanted to be young parents so we’re so happy it’s happened.
Tayah: Adam’s brother and his cousin are also expecting and we’re all two weeks apart, so there must be something in the Yorkshire water! Both of our parents are very excited.
Adam: We’re excited to tell everyone! There’s only so long you can tell people Tayah isn’t drinking before it’s suspicious!
Tayah: Yeah! I’ve had a urine infection for weeks.
And last week was a year since you met for the first time and married on the show…
Adam: I know, a lot has happened in a year!
Tayah: We were going to go back to our wedding venue to celebrate but we didn’t get around to organising anything
in time so we just did something at home.
Have you told your MAFS co-stars your news?
Tayah: I wanted to tell Amy [Christophers] because I know she’s been through experiences I’ve been through [Amy lost twins a few years ago] and I know what it’s like when you hear a pregnancy announcement and how disheartening it can be. So I wanted to give her the heads up.
Adam: We’ve told Bob [Voysey], too, and Matt [Jameson] guessed! We were at Matt’s birthday party and he was a bit drunk and he realised that Tayah wasn’t drinking and he straight-up just said, “Oh my God, are you pregnant?” And we just looked at each other! We didn’t know what to say. So Matt and Dan [McKee] know as well and Morag [Crichton].
Were any of them shocked?
Adam: They were shocked but also they weren’t really. They reacted amazingly. It was so nice being able to tell them, Bob teared up! I filmed his reaction.
Will you let your little one watch your series of MAFS back?
Adam: Yes! I think as soon as they’re older enough to understand they’re going to seek it out.
Tayah: I think it’s something they’ve got to want to do. I would never show it to them or sit them down and make them watch it.
Adam: I think it’s amazing to be able to show your kids this is the exact moment your parents first saw each other. It’s a very unique experience. When we first saw each other I just knew. It’s not love at first sight but I knew the potential for life was there.
Tayah: I strongly believe you can tell in the first few minutes if you’re going to like someone.
Are you going to find out the gender?
Tayah: Yes! We find out this week! I’m so impatient, I like to organise things. I wish I could keep it a surprise but I want to know.
Adam: I really want to get a flare that it’s either pink or blue when you set it off, so I think we’re going to do that with just really close family there.
Do you have a preference?
Tayah: We’re happy with whatever as long as they’re happy and healthy, that’s all that matters.
Adam: I would like a little boy! But obviously I wouldn’t be disappointed as I’m just so happy that we’re expecting. We’d definitely like more than one.
Tayah: Yeah, that’s a no-brainer for us having siblings.
Adam: We’ve never properly spoke about how many exactly but I guess we’ll just go with the flow and see what happens.
Tayah: It’s down to circumstance as well.
Have you thought about names yet?
Tayah: We’re going to wait to find out the sex.
Adam: I’ve found loads of names and every one I send to Tayah she doesn’t like. I think we should do what Tayah did with our dog River. She just typed dog names into Google and the first one that came up was River! And she said, “That’s the one!” I think we should call the baby River, too.
Tayah: No! But I really like that name. I’d seen it before and actually wanted it for one of my children, but then it ended up being for the dog.
You famously got rid of Adam’s light-up coffee table, Tayah. So will you be taking charge of decorating the nursery?
Tayah: Yes, I’m in charge of the interiors of the house full stop anyway! I’m thinking neutrals as you can’t go wrong then.
Adam: She’s in charge apart from my man cave, which is my everything room. I still don’t get why the coffee table thing went so big. The coffee table has gone up in price. I’m sure it’s gone up by something like 200%.
Tayah: You should be getting commission!
On the show you opened up about experiencing a miscarriage in a previous relationship, Tayah. What was it like to find out you were expecting this time?
Tayah: It was a mixture of nerves and excitement. It’s definitely nerve-wracking and you have an anxious feeling when you find out you’re pregnant again after a miscarriage and you’re going through those emotions.
Before, I wasn’t in the circumstances that I am with Adam. I know I would be very much supported if that happened, whereas before I was just going through that on my own in Australia, so I know it would be completely different if I did go through that with Adam.
I just had to get myself in the mindset that whatever is going to happen will happen and that’s helped me.
So your previous partner didn’t support you?
Tayah: Oh no, this is a completely different circumstance.
Was it important for you to speak about that on TV?
Tayah: Yes. I feel like it’s still such a taboo subject. Especially when I was going through it on my own and my parents were like, “Right we’re not going to tell anyone,” and I was like, “Why not?” It shouldn’t be like that. You should be able to talk about it. It’s so common and I think people forget that, so it was really important to me that I did speak about it.
Was it a relief to get past the 12-week mark?
Tayah: It is and isn’t. I guess that’s just how it is with children, I’m going to be anxious for the rest of their life. But getting past the 12-week mark definitely took a weight off my shoulders and to know that everything is good has given me some peace of mind.
Definitely. You were planning to get legally married this year. What’s the latest with your wedding plans?
Adam: We’ve pushed it back to next year. We were going to get married on the date that both our parents got married so we were going to keep that tradition going, but now the baby is due around then so that can’t happen.
Otherwise Tayah would probably be going into labour walking down the aisle and be in the hospital in a wedding dress!
Tayah: Now the baby can be a part of the day, which is such a special thing. Luckily, we didn’t have to cancel anything, we’ll just start from scratch with the plans.
Adam: I really want River to be a part of the day. She’s properly a part of us, we’ve had her for longer than we were on our own. We picked her up the week we finished filming.
Tayah: She’d be a very good ring bearer!

What are you both most looking forward to about the wedding?
Tayah: I think just sharing it with all our loved ones, as we didn’t have that moment with the first one so I think it will be really special, and having my dad walking me down the aisle.
That’s another reason he didn’t do the show because when it’s my actual wedding day, that’s when he wants to walk me down the aisle.
He didn’t want to take that away from such a big day and when you do properly get married. His work is also quite a private matter so he can’t be seen on telly.
Adam: I totally understand it, because if it had gone wrong, it wouldn’t have felt the same doing it a second time. We would have to redo it no matter if it went to plan or not! Now he can have that special moment.
Who will you invite out of your co-stars?
Adam: We’ve been discussing it and we do want to have people there.
Tayah: I think it depends who we still keep in touch with.
Adam: Exactly, it’s 18 months away. It would obviously be nice to have some of them there. We’ll see closer to the time.
Tayah: Yeah, Bob will definitely be there.
Did you watch Nikita Jasmine on Celebs Go Dating ?
Adam: No, I don’t watch any reality TV really.
Are you still in touch with her?
Tayah: Absolutely not. We’re just different people.
Is trolling something either of you experience?
Adam: I think all the girls experience trolls, but it doesn’t happen as much with the boys.
Tayah: I haven’t got it as much now the show has finished but I still get it.
Adam: There are a lot of strange people online. I get one guy on TikTok who comments on every single video saying, “You look like Luke Shaw [the footballer],” and then says underneath “I hate Luke Shaw”.
It still happens all the time. Sometimes it is quite hard to ignore, especially when it’s so personal.
With trolling I don’t think people realise the weight of their words sometimes.
Sometimes I don’t think people think it’s ever going to be seen, but it can have a big effect. It’s something that really needs looking at.
I can see why it affects people’s mental health. I don’t understand the point of going on social media to be negative. Something needs to be done, but that’s for someone who’s way above our pay grade.
Tayah: I put something up about our year anniversary of when we filmed the wedding coming up and someone commented saying, ‘Your dad must feel like a right tool not going,’ and I was like, ‘No, not on my watch!’ so I tagged them in a comment and replied.
I was like, ‘No, you’re not doing that!’ If they say anything about me I don’t care, but sometimes when they mention anything about my family, I will go in on them.
