It has been about 12 years since I last had the pleasure of listening to a CD. I have been on a mission to make up for lost time, so I have been listening to a lot more music. One of my favorite things is to listen to old music. I even wrote a blog post about what I have been listening to, with links to all the songs. One of the things I was listening to was a song called The Ballad of Billy the Kid. It is an Old West song that is about a gunfighter-type cowboy who is chased by lawmen in a gun battle. He manages to lose them to a river and gets away by tying his horse to a tree. I thought, would it be possible to make a more modern re-cast of this song. I had the lyrics written out, and I just played it for you. For my re-cast, I decided to go with the more recent sound of the songs. I took a lot of liberties with the lyrics, but it is pretty close.
