Strictly’s Layton Willams teases ‘potential lovers’ after first dance
Actor and stage performer Layton Williams was left “overwhelmed” by the reaction from the public as he ventured out in London for the first time “in weeks”.
It comes after the star wowed the judges with his very first routine last weekend on Strictly Come Dancing.
He and his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin took to the iconic ballroom to perform an energetic Samba to the Little Mix song Touch. But it appears that Layton has been living inside the Strictly bubble while training for the show.
After a fan took to social media to share a snap of herself and the Bad Education star, Layton responded by re-sharing the image along with a heartfelt caption over on X, formerly known as Twitter.
He replied: “Felt the love in the streets of Shoreditch today! I’ve literally not been out and about in weeks so I was a bit overwhelmed.” He also added the face holding back tears emoji, as well as thanking the fan for her support.

Layton ended up joint second on Saturday night’s leaderboard, with him joining fellow actors Bobby Brazier, Amanda Abbington and Ellie Leach and their respective professional partners, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice and Vito Coppola, on 29 points.
While the judges were impressed by Layton’s dance debut, the actor admitted that he “thought he would cry” during the show, when chatting with Lorraine Kelly earlier this week.
He remarked that he got emotional after seeing his mum on-screen when a short video montage played before he took to the dancefloor.

Layton also acknowledged that he “still has a way to go” to impress the judges, despite the impressive week one scores.
He outlined on Lorraine: “I have a lot of work, clearly still.”
His professional partner was keen to explain that the “judges are always there to help us,” even when they “criticise”.
This weekend Layton and Nikita will be taking on their first ballroom dance to perform a Quickstep to Puttin’ on the Ritz by Gregory Porter.
Will this year’s all-male partnership find themselves climbing the leaderboard or sliding down a few spots after they perform their Quickstep?
Fans will need to tune in this weekend to see how they get on with their second routine, as one couple will sadly leave the beloved BBC reality show on Sunday night.
The two couples with the lowest combined judges scores and viewers votes will find themselves in the dance off, with the four judges having the final say on who stays and who goes.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday nights on BBC One, with the Sunday night result show returning this weekend.
