Former TOWIE star Lauren Goodger has paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend Jake McLean after attending his funeral.
Jake tragically lost his life on Sunday 3 July, aged just 33, when the car he was driving crashed off a cliff in Bodrum, Turkey. His then-girlfriend TOWIE's Yazmin Oukhellou, 28, miraculously survived.
A whole host of TOWIE stars attended Jake's funeral on 16 August, including his ex-girlfriend Lauren Goodger, 35, James Argent, 34, and Sam Mucklow, 30.
Following the funeral, Lauren, who dated Jake on and off since 2012, until she met Charles Drury in 2020, paid tribute to her ex with a number of emotional images and reels on her Instagram.
To her Instagram grid, she posted a reel with throwback photos of herself and Jake throughout their relationship, as Mariah Carey's Always Be My Baby played over the top.
Lauren, who is still mourning the sudden death of her new baby daughter, Lorena, wrote: "R.i.P Jake you always be apart of me … we shared something for 5 years solid like no other. look after Lorena for me my angel baby."
Lauren's celebrity friends were quick to comment on the video with Charlotte Dawson, Nathan Henry and Kerry Katona all leaving simple red love hearts.
Others went into more detail, with one person commenting: "Can’t believe what an awfully sad time you have been through lately I’m so sorry for your losses".
Another person echoed their sentiments, writing: "Thinking of you and sending love. The amount of pain and loss you’ve suffered lately, it’s awful. I really hope you have a good support network around you. Take care x".
Someone else wrote: "You have been though so much I feel so sad for you. You looked so in love [with Jake]".
On her Instagram stories, Lauren shared an image of Jake's Order for Memorial Service, which featured a picture of him on the front, and some of the words read: "His smile and his energy would light up anyone's day.
"To know Jake was to love him. A true legend, may he rest in peace."
Over the top of the image, Lauren wrote: "Today was special," with a red love heart emoji.
The next image she posted to Instagram was a sweet snap of her and Jake as she nuzzled into his face, and on the next Instagram story was another Instagram reel of images of the pair when they were together, which played to Mariah Carey's My All.
The day after Jake's death, Lauren broke her silence on Instagram with a simple Story and the words: "R.I.P Jake. I have no words right now… my thoughts are with your family and friends."
Lauren has had an incredibly tough time of things recently with the death of Jake and then the tragic death of her newborn baby daughter Lorena just days later.
She was allegedly assaulted after her daughter’s funeral and she appeared to have what looked to be a black eye as she attended Jake's funeral.
