Kim Kardashian was left terrified during her lavish birthday trip to a private island after she spotted a ‘shark’ in the sea.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kim shared a series of clips of herself holding hands with her sister Kourtney and her close pals La La Anthony and Stephanie Shepherd as they ran into the sea after an evening of celebrating her 40th birthday.

But the group’s excitement soon turned to fear after Kim tells them that she "swore" she saw a "shark in the water".

Kim, who is wearing her metallic gold Vivienne Westwood birthday outfit in the clip, can be heard screaming and holding onto her former assistant Stephanie as she runs out of the water while her friends shout “Shark!” and burst into laughter.
