Kate ‘worried’ for Prince Louis’ future but ‘he won’t be royal hanger-on’, says expert

Since tying the knot in 2011, Prince William and Kate Middleton have welcomed three charismatic kids into the Royal Family.

While the Cambridges are slowly helping Prince George understand his destiny as King of England, Kate has concerns for his little brother Louis.

The Duchess opened up about her children’s love of sport at a rugby training session on Wednesday, saying: “They’re all enjoying it, Louis is kamikaze. We’re worrying about when he gets older, he’ll be in the middle of everything.”

Louis may be found in the middle of a rugby scrum when he grows up, but royal experts say he won’t be left in Prince George’s shadow.

Speaking for the Telegraph's Royal Insight series, expert Camilla Tominey explained: “[William and Kate] don’t want history to repeat itself and Prince Louis seem like a royal hanger-on.”

According to Ms Tominey, the Cambridges will want Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to ‘have their own careers’ if they want to.

It’s all part of the speculation of a ‘slimmed-down’ monarchy in years to come, where there will be just a handful of working royals.

Kate will face a big change too. When Prince Charles becomes King of England, the Duchess will adopt Princess Diana’s title, Princess of Wales.

It will be a bittersweet moment for William, who lost his mother in 1997, but royal expert Duncan Larcombe claimed she won’t try and fill Diana’s shoes.

“Kate has always been sensitive about being compared to Diana, and while she often pays tribute through jewellery and clothes, she’d never try to fill her shoes.”

While both Kate and William are attempting to ‘normalise’ life for their children, duty isn’t far from their minds.

Duncan added: “George is only just beginning to understand his destiny, but Kate has got the journey planned.”

And the path could be made much easier thanks to George’s cool dad!
