Kate Garraway has revealed she endured a “tricky” couple of days in a new post.
The Good Morning Britain star, 55, took to Twitter to give the update as she spoke of dealing with the “uphill” battle.
Kate’s post comes as she has been taking care of her husband Derek Draper, who has been suffering with long Covid since 2020.
Despite her difficult few days, Kate showed some positivity in her latest post as she shared a photo of yellow Crocuses after doing a spot of gardening.
She wrote: "So this is why I love nature and gardening so much. After a tricky 48 hours of feeling like I am trudging uphill on ice, my first Crocus bursts up — the spirit of life and hope in gorgeous yellow form!!!”
Kate received messages of support from followers in response to her post.
One person wrote: “Spring is coming, hopefully with a change of luck. I sometimes think that if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all!
“Caring for a loved one is hard, and that's when things are going well; take care. I'm thinking of you”.
A second commented: “So sorry what you are going through. Always smiling and plodding on, though you must be broken inside. Take some you time. Nice pamper, girlie lunch, spa break. You deserve it xx”.
A third fan said: “Sending you all love and rays of sunshine. Like millions I bet, thinking of you all so often sending strength and soothing and smiles”.
Kate recently gave tribute to the carer Jake, who looked after her husband Derek, 55, when he first came home from hospital in 2021 after falling ill with Covid.
Jake also featured in Kate’s award-winning documentary Caring for Derek.
Kate posted a photo on Instagram of her husband lying in bed whilst smiling up at Jake, who was seen beaming back, as the pair held hands.
She took the moment to highlight Jake’s other talent, as a musician, as she praised him in the post.
Kate captioned: “Many of you will remember Jake who cared for Derek when he first came out of hospital in April 21 – from the documentary #caringforderek, so you will know what a wonderful healthcare professional he is.
“But have just found out he’s also an amazing musician – under the name @sencymiller.x – He’s just released a song called #okukuseku (check it out in his bio) – which no surprise is full of love & inspiration to keep going & never give up.”
She added: “The world of carers never fails to surprise me with their depths of talent, thoughtfulness and motivation #happyfriday all!”
