Hailey Bieber slams ‘dangerous’ narrative pitting her against Selena Gomez
Justin Bieber is being slammed for sharing a message of support for Israel alongside a photo of Gaza City destruction.
On Wednesday, the Baby singer posted on his Instagram Story the words “Praying for Israel” overlayed on an image of ruined buildings in the Gaza Strip.
Much of Gaza has been destroyed in retaliation for the attack launched by Palestinian Hamas terrorists on Israel’s territories on Saturday.
Bieber’s post came only days after the terrorist attack, which resulted in the death of over 1,200 Israeli civilians.
However, within an hour, the pop star deleted the post and reshared the same message but this time with no background.

Bieber quickly caught his mistake, but many fans took notice.
Under his most recent Instagram post, angry fans have flooded the comments section with hundreds of emojis of the Palestine flag.
Most criticized Bieber’s lack of knowledge of the issue with one writing: “Made a whole album called Justice yet you don’t know the meaning of the word.”
Another added: “Please educate yourself,” while a third commented: “A 29 year old man that can’t use his brain to search facts on Google.”
In an earlier post on his Instagram Story, Bieber wrote: “Truly hurting for both my Israeli and Palestinian friends. I’m pretty sure we all instinctively know evil when we see it. To vilianize [sic] all Palestinians or all Israeli people to me seems wrong. I’m not interested in choosing sides, but I am interested in standing with the families who have been brutally taken from us.”

Bieber wasn’t the only celebrity to make a mistake when posting about the conflict.
Oscar-winning actor Jamie Lee Curtis posted a picture with the caption “Terror from the skies” with an Israeli flag on Instagram on Monday.
However, she deleted it after followers pointed out the picture was actually of Gazan children.
Besides Bieber and Curtis, a number of celebrities have reacted to crisis.
Madonna called the situation in Israel “devastating” in a statement posted on Instagram, adding that “conflicts can never be resolved with violence” and her heart “goes out to Israel.”
Meanwhile, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, who served two mandatory years in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) before beginning her Hollywood career, shared several posts in support of Israel over the weekend.

Gadot urged her followers to help those who were impacted, writing: “Whoever can, and willing to donate, these peoples lives changed forever yesterday. They’ve lost so much and need help. Only if you can.”
In another post, she added: “I stand with Israel you should too. The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!”
Following Hamas’ attack, Israel announced a “complete siege” and has cut off water, food, fuel and electricity supplies to Gaza, which is home to 2.3 million people.
Retaliatory strikes by Israeli forces have killed at least 950 people, with more than 2,700 wounded, so far.
