Good Morning Britain's Adil Ray has appeared to take a swipe at Piers Morgan as he made a jibe about people who criticise others for saying they are experiencing mental health issues.
The presenter, who previously praised his co-star Kate Garraway, was discussing tennis player Naomi Osaka withdrawing from press conferences due to the negative effect it has on her mental health.
Naomi, 23, revealed she has suffered from depression since her 2018 US open final win against Serena Williams as she quit the French open.
The sports star wrote on Instagram: "I've watched many clips of athletes breaking down after a loss in the press room and I know you have as well.
"I believe that whole situation is kicking a person while they're down and I don't understand the reasoning behind it."
Speaking about the news, Adil, 47, said: "The debate has come once again [because of] our attitude to mental health, and I just find it despicable how some people can just trash somebody when they say they have mental health issues."
This comes after Piers, 56, criticised Naomi on social media.
The outspoken star tweeted on Monday: "Narcissistic Naomi's cynical exploitation of mental health to silence the media is right from the Meghan & Harry playbook of wanting their press cake and eating it."

On Tuesday, the television personality added: "What journalist will dare criticise Naomi Osaka ever again?
"She's got what she wanted – no more criticism, only praise. Meanwhile all her fellow tennis professionals will continue to fulfil their contractual obligations to media & get criticism when deserved. This seems fair?"
He also shared his views in more detail in his Daily Mail column and called her "an arrogant spoiled brat whose fame and fortune appears to have inflated her ego to gigantic proportions."
Piers, who reunited with his family for his dad's 80th birthday party, sensationally quit Good Morning Britain earlier this year following his comments on Meghan Markle after her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The dad-of-four clashed with co-host Alex Beresford which led to his infamous walk-off live-on-air.
Since his exit, ITV have replaced him with Adil and other GMB regular Ben Shepherd, while Alastair Campbell also recently co-hosted with Susanna Reid.
