A select few EastEnders stars have revealed a cryptic clue about the highly anticipated Christmas murder at the NTAs, with a small detail in their outfits.
Speaking exclusively to OK! on the red carpet at Tuesday's awards, 5 September, Brian Conley – who plays Sonia Fowler’s long-lost father Terry Cant – revealed that the flash forward episode features a cuff link.
So a few of the male cast were wearing the same cuff links to the NTAs, to give a hint at who might be murdered at Christmas.
Brian told OK! the clue is that maybe one of those men is the person who will die at Christmas.
Brian cut a smart figure in a purple and black suede suit, as he showed off the yellow-stoned cuff link to the camera.
The flashforward Christmas episode, which aired on 20 February, has teased a future storyline nearly a year in advance.
In a show first, EastEnders fans were shown Christmas 2023 flashforward scenes of six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) faced with a dead body.
In the moments that unfolded at the Queen Vic, the group of women all stood round in shock in a festive-looking pub and looked down at a man lying on the floor.
Not much was said between the six of them, but Sharon leant over the body and confirmed he was dead. Wearing a wedding dress, Sharon had some blood on her dress while Stacey had it all over her hands.
Elsewhere at the NTA’s Danielle Harold was overcome with emotion as she accepted the Serial Drama Performance award at the 2023 awards.
The former soap star, 31, took home the award for her incredible performance as Lola Pearce-Brown in EastEnders, following the character's devastating brain tumour storyline earlier this year.
Danielle, who first appeared in EastEnders in 2011, beat a number of talented soap stars at the NTAs, with her fellow nominees including Coronation Street 's Charlotte Jordan and Maureen Lipman as well as Emmerdale 's Dominic Brunt.
The star couldn't hide her excitement as she heard her name read out at the awards bash and she quickly became emotional.
Danielle was surrounded by her EastEnders co-stars, who all jumped up and celebrated with her after the announcement. James Bye, Adam Woodyatt and Bobby Brazier were clearly overjoyed for the actress and rushed to congratulate her.
