Duchess Kate Knows Exactly How to Style a Blazer

Duchess Kate loves simple, classic style, and it doesn’t get more classic than a blazer.

The Duchess of Cambridge made a visit to London’s Southwark district to meet with parents and children from PACT (Parents and Children Together), a community organization that looks to improve the health and development of children and their caretakers—a cause close to the royal’s heart. Kate met with members and volunteers during their weekly MumSpace meeting, which aims to create a support network for parents raising babies and toddlers.

For the outing, Kate paired her statement black-and-white plaid blazer with a plain black top and a pair of black tapered trousers from L.K. Bennett. Accessories included a black-and-gold belt, a blue pendant necklace from Astley Clarke, a stainless steel watch by Cartier, pearl drop earrings and a diamond-studded ring by Annoushka, and black suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi.

“One of the key takeaways was how local support networks are such a core principle in giving parents the confidence and resilience to support their children,” the royal’s office at Kensington Palace said of the visit, per People. “It’s such a great example of best practice in leveraging the power of communities for support of one another.”

The duchess, who launched the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, is a known champion of early childhood development.

“Our first five years lay important foundations for our future selves,” Kate wrote in a letter last June while announcing the center’s first inaugural report, titled Big Change Starts Small. “This period is when we first learn to manage our emotions and impulses, to care and to empathize, and thus ultimately to establish healthy relationships with ourselves and others.”
