TV icon Quinn Redeker died on December 20 in Los Angeles, according to reports. The on-screen actor was a guest star staple on American television for more than three decades from the 1960s through to the 1980s.

He was best known for his portrayal of Alex Marshall on Days of Our Lives from 1979 to 1987.

Quinn also played Rex Sterling on more than 200 episodes of CBS’s The Young and Restless.

The news of his death was confirmed by his family and it was a result of natural causes, according to Deadline.

Tributes have since poured in for the late actor on social media as fans offered their condolences.

Twitter user Amaya penned: “So sad. RIP to the legend Quinn Redeker. He was around during the golden age of soap. Prayers and love to his loved ones.”

Joan wrote: “RIP Quinn Redeker.”

Classic 80s tweeted: “This is heartbreaking. Rest in Peace Quinn Redeker. Our beloved, hilarious Alex Marshall…”
