Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd has given a teaser to the fate of killer Stephen Reid, after he attempted to drug his mother Audrey Roberts.
Stephen is plotting to get his hands on her money after secretly going broke.
His plan to secure ownership of Audrey’s house earlier this year didn’t work, and now he’s trying other methods of finding money fast — leaving viewers fearing his next move.
The once-wealthy character is struggling to conceal his penniless truth as his family urges him to give ten thousand pounds to Sarah, to help her out of her business troubles.
Audrey also shared that she wants go on a cruise, leaving Stephen feeling under pressure to bring up the cash.
Jack’s character David Platt has his suspicions over his uncle Stephen’s actions, and the actor revealed that these only increase, while barely anyone else around is questioning the scheming resident.
Jack, 34, has said that the Platts may be the ones responsible for finally taking murderer Stephen down, after discovering his plot to hurt his own mother.
He hinted to The Mirror: “If anybody crosses Audrey then you cross all of us.
“We don't want any harm to come to Audrey so we might have to sort of step in if he does hurt Audrey."
Jack continued: “Well [my character is] getting suspicious, no-one else is. He did have some money problems but sort of sorted himself out a little bit…
“I think David will be the one to say to everyone, ‘I told you so, from the off I said he was bad news and no one believed me.’”
He added: “So, David will be there for that but I don’t want him to uncover the truth because that sounds like he’d be on the chopping board.”
Before arriving on the cobbles, Stephen had become a successful businessman in Canada. His fortune turned bad though earlier this year as he tried to embezzled money to pay off his debts.
It is not yet known if Stephen will be found out, or if he will be able to keep his evil scheming under wraps. Whatever the outcome, it is likely to deeply impact Audrey’s relationship with her son.
Viewer have shared their hope of David discovering Stephen’s plot, before it’s too late and Audrey gets hurt, on social media.
One person wrote: “Good about time Stephen got caught out”, as another said: “Hope so before he does something else.”
