There was a tiny smattering of a music playlist, A RMP Eminem What a brilliant cast, all, good to work with. Will Smith looks a little dazed after his daughter, can he still smile. The actor has done it all, but his role in the new blockbuster 300: Rise of an Empire isnt one of the things that make him unique in the world of Hollywood. With his movie the big hero takes a back seat and the audience is forced to sit through something that is basically a re-telling of the same battle scenes from the first three games in the Game of Thrones series, which are, after all, about a war between the fictional kingdom of Westeros and the real worlds China. Youve never been to Westeros, but watching the movie 300 reminded you of the game it was based on, and the fact that the movie version only follows three characters, none of whom are even human, makes you wonder if theres any truth to the old saying all the publicity is good publicity. Or rather, the movie version of 300 is the least interesting one. Smith plays John Carter, a man who is literally the archetypal American hero, a man who goes on to lead an army of colonists to victory, but who dies in the war with the terrifying and mythical Aztecs, a war whose outcome is entirely based on luck, not strategy or planning. Smiths character was basically written to be a modern version of the Greek hero Achilles, but this movie is really more like that of Michael Bays Transformers. The movie is nothing but explosions and explosions, the same kind of explosions that took out the characters in the first three games youre watching. Shes just as uninspired about the movie as you are, and in fact she suggests not even watching it, because of its lack of respect for the old games and the story they want to tell in the new one. Maybe you have just come to one conclusion after a lifetime of opinions, but it seems to be that its better not to know any of them. After all, is it not always better to take what you are given, rather than what you might have wanted. You watch it anywayIts not a question of whether youll like it or not, its a matter of how youre going to approach dealing with.
