Claudia Winkleman has revealed that if her husband wants to be with her, then embracing her passion for fake tanning is totally “non-negotiable”.
The 51-year-old Strictly Come Dancing presenter declared: “Love me, love my fake tan. We come as one.”
She acknowledged that the stains “can look quite alarming” on the bedsheets, but says it’s something her film producer husband Kris Thykier, with whom she shares three children, will have to accept.
There may be a compromise in store for Kris, however, as Claudia has also discovered creams she can apply which will help her tan deepen as she sleeps.
“You just spray [it] on and it doesn’t stain… and then you wake up looking like you’ve been in Italy for two weeks!” she exclaimed to Hello! Magazine.

Another aspect of Claudia that she’s unwilling to consider changing is her trademark fringe.
“I don’t even know what’s under there – squirrels? Bowls of cereal? I’ve got absolutely no idea [but] I can’t be without the fringe,” she continued.
“I’m pretty sure that’s why I got work. [Employers would] go: ‘Who’s the orange one with the fringe again?’ I’ve got to keep the fringe or I’ll lose my job!”
However, Claudia has also admitted in the past that her hairdresser was warned by a BBC executive not to let the distinctive hairstyle get too out of control.

Instagram followers might recall just how long her fringe became during the pandemic, when lockdowns meant her hairstyle was starting to obscure her vision.
A producer at the BBC appeared to have had similar concerns, when he approached her about it soon after she landed her Strictly hosting role.
Speaking at Edinburgh Festival in August, she recalled that she’d thanked her employer for the “honour” of being asked to host the show, but that he’d shot back: “‘I’m just going to need a phone number from you.’
“I was like, ‘Oh yeah, okay, which one?’ and he said, ‘Your hairdresser’s.’ I was like, ‘Bit weird!'” Claudia exclaimed.
“Two days later, James, who does my hair, said, ‘This guy phoned up to complain about the length of your fringe,'” she continued.
“He was like: ‘You can have this job but [the fringe is] just annoying, it’s down to your nose. You want to be on telly but you’re invisible!'”
The BBC favourite has previously explained that she feels self-conscious over the size of her forehead and has even joked that the striking hairstyle will save her money on Botox as she gets older.
Fans can see more of Claudia this weekend on Strictly Come Dancing, which airs on Saturday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
