Gill Gibson and Helen Tait were a mother and daughter duo from Maidstone in Kent. They only appeared in the very first series of the show back in 2013. It is unknown why they didn’t stay for a second series. They have never been back on TV and not much is known about what they are doing now.
Gogglebox has had viewers hooked since it launched back in March 2013 and has won numerous awards in it’s ten-year history, including BAFTAs and NTAs.
The surprisingly simple concept, which sees ordinary people being filmed watching each week’s television highlights and commenting on them, has proved compelling viewing.
That is thanks in no small part to the cast of characters assembled to voice their opinions on the top telly shows.
While many of them, such as Scarlett Moffat, have gone on to become household names, other members of the early cast have faded from memory.
Here Express.co.uk takes a look at the Gogglebox favourites we’ve forgotten about.
Siblings Charlotte, Gemma and Louise Allen, who all looked strikingly similar to each other, appeared in the first two seasons of the show. The Essex based trio were all living at home with their parents during their time on the show. Charlotte reportedly had a job in fashion when she started on the Gogglebox, but they have all disappeared from the public eye since they left.
Jeff and Tracey only appeared in the second series of Gogglebox but are memorable as they were always in bed. Indeed Tracey still describes herself as “gogglebox bed lady” in her bio on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Jay Makin, known as Silent Jay because he remained famously mute during his tenure on the show, was the original boyfriend of Eve Woerdenweber. He left the series suddenly in 2015 when Eve broke up with him.
Leon and June Bernicoff, the adorable couple from Liverpool, appeared on the show from the first series in 2013 until Leon’s sad death 2017. June understandably left the programme while grieving, and sadly passed away not long afterwards following a short illness.
