Carol Vorderman couldn’t resist reacting to Miriam Margolyes’ “genius” interview on BBC’s Today programme where she was ushered out of the studio after dropping the F-bomb. The Countdown legend, 61, took to Twitter and praised the Harry Potter actress after her BBC Radio 4 interview went viral.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, Carol retweeted the audio clip of Miriam unleashing a verbal attack on the new Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Social media user Dino Sofos captioned the post: “Possibly the greatest moment in the Today programme’s history courtesy of Miriam Margolyes.”
Addressing her 494,000 followers, Carol tweeted: “This is genius….the bit that gets me most of all, having said ‘F you…you b*****D” live on air is…..’ But you can’t say that’….genius…….like the cutest puppy wagging its tail right after destroying a cushion. God we love you @MMargolyes.”(sic)
Miriam was being interviewed live on air when she told listeners she had just bumped into the former Health Secretary in the BBC corridors after his own interview.
Jeremy has since been appointed as Chancellor following Kwasi Kwarteng’s recent sacking.
The BAFTA award-winning star told Radio 4 presenters: “When I saw him there I just said, ‘You’ve got a hell of a job, the best of luck’.”
To the shock of listeners, however, Miriam then went on to swear loudly before being removed from the airwaves.
“What I really wanted to say was, ‘F*** you You b*****d!’ but you can’t say that,” she revealed.
The award-winning actress’ unexpected comments prompted an apology from the presenters who quickly introduced the sports news and told her: “We’ll have to have you out of the studio now…”
Social media users quickly reacted to Carol’s post with some people disagreeing with her thoughts.
