Billie Shepherd celebrated her daughter Nelly's seventh birthday this weekend with a fabulous horse riding party.

And while the day turned out to be everything little Nelly dreamed of, Billie has revealed to OK! that a last-minute problem nearly put the whole celebration in jeopardy.

Catching up with OK! as she launches Silent Night's Dream Bed competition, Billie revealed that heavy rain nearly ruined Nelly's celebrations.

Billie explained: "The weather wasn’t the best. During the set up it started really raining. Where it was horse riding, it was all outside. We had a couple of gazebo things so I was really panicking. And then, just as the party started it stopped and then literally, it hardly rained for the rest of the day. So I was so relieved. The kids loved it, they had so much fun."

The star, who recently announced she'll be fronting her own show, The Family Diaries, alongside husband Greg, Nelly and her youngest child, Arthur, four, continued to say that she can't believe how grown up her daughter is now she's turned seven.

Billie explained: "Honestly, it’s crazy. Me and my mum were saying this earlier – when they get to seven, it feels like a real grown up age now. From being a toddler, little girls starting school and now seven, it’s mad. And Arthur goes to school this year as well, which is crazy."

Billie shared plenty of snaps from the magical celebrations last weekend.

The family were spotted all dressed up for horse riding at a paddock and there were plenty of pink balloons to decorate the space.

A horse-themed cake was ready for Nelly and her pals too, while pizza and sweet treats were served to fill up the kids after their activities.

Billie's sister Sam and her children, Paul, five, and Rosie, three, were also in attendance.

Sam, who is stepping away from The Mummy Diaries, was spotted posing under a sign with sister Billie and their good pal Ferne McCann was also in attendance at the party.

The grown-ups seemed to enjoy it just as much as Nelly and her friends, as Billie shared a video of herself having a go at making some ice-cream.

At the end of the bash, Nelly’s friends were all given a pretty party box to take home, tied in a silk pale pink ribbon with a gold horse on the front.
