The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has overturned Bill Cosby’s 2018 sexual assault conviction, meaning that the comedian will be freed from serving his prison sentence.
Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison and has been serving time at Pennsylvania’s State Correctional Institution at Phoenix.
“Cosby’s convictions and judgment of sentence are vacated, and he is discharged,” the justices wrote in their opinion (read it here).
A spokesperson for Cosby did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
More to come.
