Plot EditThe film opens on Belle waking up in the forest, alone. In her mind she is singing a song, but it is a sad, lonely song. She wanders the forest, looking for a way home and her thoughts turn to being in love. She comes upon many trees, some small and some large, but all are withered and bare; some are withered, some are covered in flowers and others in the ground. She sees a young man sitting on a branch as she walks past, and thinks that maybe she should approach the tree so she can sit under its shade and read. Belle finally enters the Forbidden Forest where she sees many familiar places: the enchanted oak-tree where she spent her youth, a dark hollow in the ground and another tree with a hole in the top. She looks up at one of these landmarks, the magical oak-tree, and realizes it is gone. She realizes there is no one here to love her and she is alone. When she looks around at the forest, she sees a young man kneeling in the middle of the forest. She believes he is her lover, but his eyes are red and swollen. He is the embodiment of evil and all evil loves to be loved. Belle looks upon him, and he is looking at her. They kiss, but he says nothing. She must find her destiny in a new place. When Belle reaches the town of the same name, she finds a strange man waiting for her.
