Anne-Marie had graced the Brit Awards 2022 stage to perform her single Don’t Play with YouTube sensation-turned-rapper KSI and Digital Farm Animals. But things were off to a rocky start for The Voice judge when she walked down a set of stairs in her high-platform boots before taking a tumble.

Didn’t need my left ankle anyway

Impressively, though, the 30-year-old continued singing as she gathered her composure and powered through the rest of her set as if nothing ever happened.

Fans have since compared the accident to Madonna’s fall at the Brit Awards in 2015 when she was dragged off a platform while performing her song Living For Love.

The 2002 singer quickly began trending on Twitter, with viewers wondering whether Anne-Marie was okay after what appeared to be quite a painful fall.

She remained in good spirits as she took to the social media platform to update her 1.1 million followers following her on-stage ordeal.

“Didn’t need my left ankle anyway,” she tweeted.

The post amassed well over 50,000 likes in less than an hour, with hundreds of fans flocking to Anne-Marie’s comment section to praise the way she handled the mishap.

Like a true performer, the blonde beauty showed no signs that she was in agony as painful as her fall may have seemed to viewers at home.

Celeb Masterchef Emma Kennedy tagged Anne-Marie as she responded to the latter’s tweet, writing: “I’ve been saying on a loop ‘OOOH I hope her ankle’s all right’ like a proper Nan.”

@Sophhnotfound continued, tweeting: “Queen right here who got straight back up and never missed a beat.”

@SelfishMinterrr echoed similar words, penning: “The way you picked yourself back up like nothing happened was ICONIC.

“You styled it out though Anne Marie, just like the superstar you are.

“If it’s good enough for Madonna.”

Another fan named @iamdanduke continued to commend the pop superstar with uplifting words.

“You handled it amazingly!” they wrote.

“If I were you I’d have just rolled along the floor until I was off the stage.

“Proud of you.”

Before the show, Anne-Marie had pulled up to the red carpet looking chic and cool in a black leather jacket, flared trousers and a cut-out bralette.

She ended up running into her longtime pal and fellow singer Ed Sheeran as they posed for photos before heading inside the O2 Arena in London.

Anne-Marie lost out on winning Song of the Year at the start of the ceremony.

The gong ended up going to Adele with her chart-topping comeback single Easy On Me.
