Amanda Holden in talks to replace Phillip Schofield on Dancing On Ice this weekend

Amanda Holden may be replacingPhillip Schofieldon Dancing on Ice in the wake of him testing positive for Covid.

Phillip usually hosts the well-loved competition alongside best pal Holly Willoughby, but this weekend remains up in the air after the 59 year oldtested positive for Covid on Monday 31 January.

Reportedly both Alison Hammond and Rochelle Humes are also being considered to replace the hosting veteran while he isolates.

A source said: “ITV are a progressive channel who want to reflect the modern world as much as possible.

“And while Dancing on Ice’s bosses are gutted to see Phillip forced to temporarily step out of hosting duties, that also presents an opportunity to have two women front the show.”

They continued to tell The Sun: “Producers have seen the energy that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have brought to Strictly and they’re curious to see how Holly bounces off another female presenter.

“But there’s no question of Phillip not returning. He’ll be champing at the bit to get back to work.”

Phillip expressed his concerns aboutnot being able to host Dancing On Ice this Sundaywhile chatting to Alison and Rochelle via video link on This Morning.

Alison stepped in for Phillip last minuteafter announcing he’d contracted the virus late Monday evening.

After being asked how he was doing, he told the hosting duo: “I’m fine. I haven’t even got a sore throat now, I sneezed twice and that’s it.”

Phillip went on to say that he is “cutting it fine” if he is able to appear on DOI, while admitting he’s “disappointed” that he can't be on This Morning for the time being.

“Thankfully, we’re pretty careful in there, but there’s a number of things I’m disappointed about,” he said.

“Obviously I’m disappointed that I’m not there, we’re a little bit worried about Dancing on Ice as I’m cutting it a bit fine for Dancing on Ice on Sunday.”

Phillip was also sad to miss out on Gok Wan’s dumplings, which he was making in the studio kitchen today.

Alison reassured the presenter that she’s “holding down the fort” while he’s off.

She said: “With every cloud is a silver lining, I’m here darling, I’m going to hold the fort, eat your dumplings and I’m going to see if my tongue can get tested. Sit back, enjoy your time at home, relax, I got this babe.”
