Jordan Cashmyer, star of 16 and Pregnant, has died at the age of 26.
The former MTV star appeared on the reality series in 2014, with her dad confirming news of her death on Facebook.
Alongside a black-and-white photo, Dennis Cashmyer wrote: ‘Last night I received a call no parent ever wants.
‘My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER.
‘Please keep my family in your thoughts prayers as we navigate through this terrible tragedy. Please understand and respect our privacy at this time.
‘We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, grand daughter Lyla and family members. ?.’
The star’s cause of death has not been shared.
Following the news, friends shared their condolences with the family over their tragedy.
‘My heart is breaking for you guys. I’m sooo sorry. I’m here if you need anything. Sending you all love and strength and guidance to help you through [sic],’ one commented beneath the post.
‘So sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers for your family,’ another said.
‘I’m so sorry to be reading this, Dennis. My heart-felt condolences to you and to your family,’ a Facebook user replied.
As a follower added: ‘Omg I’m so sorry for this tremendous loss your family is going through. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.’
Cashmyer appeared on the popular MTV series In 2014, alongside her boyfriend at the time, Derek Taylor.
They did not have an easy time of it in front of the cameras, as her family were not happy about their relationship.
She welcomed daughter Genevieve Shae Taylor in March of that year, but the former couple called time on their relationship after their appearance on 16 & Pregnant.
The new mum’s family stepped in to briefly share guardianship of their granddaughter.
Cashmyer later reportedly temporarily signed away her custody rights of her daughter to Taylor’s mum, and stepped out of the spotlight.
