Brenda Lee‘s 1958 classic “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” has remained atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a second consecutive week.
Last week, the track topped the all-genre tally for the first time in its history, 65 years after its debut.
“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is the third holiday song ever to top the Hot 100 after “The Chipmunk Song,” by The Chipmunks with David Seville and Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
The song also marks Lee’s third No. 1 hit in her career, following “I’m Sorry” and “I Want To Be Wanted”.
“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” drew 41.3 million streams, up 18%, and 20.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, down 1%, and sold 6,000 downloads, up 109%, in the December 1-7 tracking week, according to Luminate.
