Typical, isn’t it? You throw a massive birthday-cum-Christmas bash at the £472-a-night Broadwick Soho Hotel, invite all your famous friends… and who turns up but that festive party-pooper, The Grinch?

India Rose James, above left, and her sister Fawn found themselves draped around the grumpy green monster in the upstairs bar of the hotel at India’s 32nd birthday party last week.

Art curator India, who famously made the Sunday Times rich list aged 16 after inheriting a £329million fortune when her grandfather, porn baron Paul Raymond, died in 2008, took to social media to describe the evening. ‘All my favourite people were there… and The Grinch,’ she wrote.

Other famous faces at the party were fashion designer Annie Doble and artist Nettie Wakefield, the ex-girlfriend of Poldark actor Aidan Turner.

India is now over five years sober and has toned down her party-girl image to focus on her career in the art world. Earlier this year she told society bible Tatler: ‘Going out was happening a bit too often, and I started getting a reputation as a party girl. Which is fine when you’re younger.’
