BBC Breakfast star reunited with Rick Astley
BBC Breakfast weather man Matt Taylor looked sheepish this morning as he was reunited with Never Gonna Give You Up singer Rick Astley.
The meteorologist was asked if he could guess who was appearing next after his weather segment, before realising that he was about to meet Rick Astley face to face.
It comes three years after the presenter made an awkward blunder live on the BBC One show.
At the time, he was asked by host Charlie Stayt whether he was a fan of the “singer, to which he replied: “Err not a massive one.”
Unfortunately for Matt, he made the admission immediately before Rick was welcomed onto the show.

At the time, Charlie laughed nervously before adding: “That was the wrong thing to say. He’s listening and he’s coming up in just a moment.”
The camera then cut to Rick, who luckily seemed amused by the blunder, before Charlie repeated: “I’ll ask you again. Are you a Rick Astley fan?”
A thoroughly embarrassed Matt then hastily replied: “Love Rick Astley. Best! Grew up with him!”

Today on BBC Breakfast, Matt was in for a surprise as he finished off his round-up of the weather.
Presenter Sally Nugent teased: “Matt I’m sure you’re probably quite glad to be where you are in your little studio today because one of your favourite people is here on the sofa. Guess who it is!”
Matt smiled sheepishly before asking: “Really? Can I have a guess? Am I his biggest fan?”
Sally and Rick could be heard laughing in the studio as she cheekily replied: “You are now! It is of course Rick Astley.”
The camera then cut to Rick, who mimicked wringing Matt’s neck as he joked: “Grrr where is he? Where is he?”
“Have you forgiven him yet?” Sally’s co-presenter Jon Kay asked, before Rick confirmed: “There’s nothing to forgive.”
After Sally re-explained the awkward past encounter to fans at home, Rick reiterated: “I don’t blame him. It’s all good.”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
